National Kale Day

National Kale Day

In case you haven’t heard the word, October 2nd is National Kale Day. Kale day is designated to raise awareness of the myriad health benefits that the vegetable offers. In honor of the holiday, a website has been launched that allows kale enthusiasts to learn fun facts and trivia about the vegetable, find kale from local farms, and get recipes that utilize the green, leafy vegetable. There are also live streaming events throughout the day, such as a Kale Health Summit and a Kale Dance Party, where Internet users can join fellow kale enthusiasts around the world as health and culinary experts discuss and celebrate all things kale-related. An online petition has also been started that asks the president to make the first Wednesday of every October the official National Kale Day.
